BUILT ON A PARTNERSHIP

The Objective Imaging Hardware Automation Module for Image-Pro® was developed as a partnership between Objective Imaging and Media Cybernetics to implement support of specific hardware devices within the Image-Pro platform.

Scale the Module options to meet your application need.
The Basic option provides fundamental device control capabilities, storing and relocation of positions, single field automatic Z-stack acquisition, and XY scan pattern definition and execution.
The XY 2D Mosaic option adds high-performance whole specimen mosaic image acquisition that can be further expanded with options for Turboscan™ continuous scan acquisition and 3D Z-stack mosaic image creation.

Built into the Image-Pro Platform, the Hardware Automation Module provides users the ability to control motorized XY stages and Z focus motors to easily capture and analyze images in a single platform.

Hardware Automation Module for Image-Pro: Basic Option

MARK AND FIND

Monitor multiple positions on a single sample over time.

Mark and Find allows the user to set multiple discrete locations in X, Y, and Z and incorporate them into an automated aquisition protocol for each field of view, with options for autofocus and Z-stack operations. This is ideal for monitoring locations representing multiple locations of interest over time or between samples.

Then use Image-Pro's bactch processing to process and analyze your collected images quickly and easily.
Mark and Find Image
Z-Stack Image

Z-STACK

Visualize the complete 3D profile of a structure in the field of view by automatically capturing a series of successive focal planes using the Basic Module's Z focus motor control.

Process the resulting Z-stack planes into a single representation of the specimen using Image-Pro's extensive Extended Depth of Field (EDF) tools.

Combine Z-stack acquisition with the Basic Module's Mark and Find feature to capture 3D volumes at multiple locations.

Visualize, analyze, and create stunning 3D movies by implementing the Image-pro 3D Module as part of your imaging platform.

BASIC XYZ MODULE KEY FEATURES

  • Software control of XY stage and Z focus
  • User list of XY/Z locations for relocation
  • Software joystick control of XYZ
  • Z-stack field of view acquisition using Media Cy camera driver
  • Autofocus using Media Cy camera driver
  • XY scan pattern definitions: Rectangular, Circular, Annular, Cross, CrossX, Random
  • Image-Pro Macro Autoamtion support

Hardware Automation Module for Image-Pro: Mosaic Option

Capturing an object at the optimal resolution can be challenging specially when the object of interest is larger than the field of view of the ptical system. The solution is tiling several imges together to create a single cohesive image that will allow the researcher to see the entire object in a single mosaic.

The Hardware Automation Module for Image-Pro incorporates Objective Imaging's long-standard expertise in high-performance, high-quality mosaic scanning directly within the Image-Pro environment. This provides the performance of high-end slide scanners on a range of microscope platforms using off-the-shelf automation components, offering greater flexibility in the objective magnifications and optical imaging modes that can be utilized when acquiring whole-specimen mosaic images.

Configure the Mosaic Module's options to implement the functionality that best addresses your application requirements.

XY Mosaic Image

XY 2D MOSAIC

Scan a 2D area simply by drawing a region of interest on the Module's stage map, or by using the scan pattern creating tools. Define a focus map with autofocus to enable predictive focus tracking during scanning to correct for uneveness of the slide, stage, or sample. Easily transfer all or a portion of the mosaic to an Image-Pro image document for processing and analysis.

The XY Mosaic option includes all of the features of the Basic Module, plus:

  • Automatic scanning and viewing of 2D image mosaics of virtually any size
  • High-performance autofocus using OI camera driver
  • Predictive focus during scanning
  • Preview mosaic image acquisition
  • Multiple scan pattern shapes for mosaic acquisition
  • Translfer of full and ROI mosaics to Image-Pro image documents for further processing
  • Image-Pro Macro Autoamtion support for mosaic acquisition and handling

MOSAIC OPTIONAL MODULES

The following options can be added to the XY 2D Mosaic Module.
Turboscan Mosaic Image

TURBOSCAN™

The Turboscan option for the Mosaic Module offers the high-speed mosaic scanning technique Objective Imaging utilizes in its Glissando slide scanners for use with platforms based on standard microscopes.

Turboscan's acquisition of image tiles without stopping the stage during scanning signicantly reduces the time taking to acquire and create bright field mosaic images. This is particularly beneficialy for large specimens that need to be scanned with higher power objectives such as 20X or 40X.

Add the Turboscan option to the XY 2D Mosaic Module to enhance your overall throughput for whole specimen imaging applications.
Z-stack Mosaic Image

Z-STACK MOSAIC

The Z-stack option for the Mosaic Module extends it capabilities to include the automatic acquisition of 3D mosaic images, allowing to capture the full 3D image of your specimen.

The Z-stack Mosaic option allows enables the use of the OI camera driver for single field of view Z-stack acquisitions for improved Z-stack acquisition times.
